Who You'll Help
Julia’s House the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice charity provides practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. We tailor our care to the needs of each individual child and their family, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at our hospice. When a family finds out their child has a very serious medical condition their world falls apart. An unwell child is a worry for any parent – but being told there is no cure for a complex medical condition or illness that will require constant 24 hour care is devastating. No parent expects to live longer than their child, but for many of the families we support, this is a reality. Julia’s House exists to support these children and their families.
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a disabling and life threatening genetic skin disorder, characterized by blisters and skin tearing from the slightest trauma and scarring of the skin ,eyes and internal organs. The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation (EBMRF) is an all volunteer non profit Foundation dedicated to finding a cure by funding medical scientists so they can learn more about EB, its causes, the development of successful treatments and, ultimately, a cure. We are unique in that we pay no salaries and all overhead costs are kept to a mimimum, allowing more of our contributions to go directly to the research programs. Your dollars will be used to fund ongoing research programs at Stanford, The University of Minnesota , USC and others who are on the frontlines of groundbreaking studies.
