CAFA prequalifies each Charity as an eligible recipient of CAFA grants. At the end of each fundraising campaign, so long as the Charity continues to qualify as an eligible recipient of CAFA grants, CAFA will make a grant to the Charity of the net proceeds of the fundraising campaign.*

SWEEPSTAKES STRUCTURE:

The Sweepstakes is made up of: (a) one (1) Grand Prize Drawing, and (b) one (1) mid-campaign Drawing with prize to be announced at later date.  Sweepstakes entries will be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing as well as any of the other Drawings in which such entry occurs on or before the applicable Drawing’s specified entry deadline.

Grand Prize Drawing:

Entry Dates/Deadline: October 3, 2019 - November 12, 2019

Grand Prize Winner Announcement: On or around November 27, 2019

Grand Prize Timing: December 1, 2019 - December 7, 2019 and additional dates through November 2020

Winners: 

(a) One (1) eligible entrant selected as a winner of the Grand Prize; and

(b) an additional eligible entrant selected as winner of the Additional Prize described below in the order in which such winners are selected after the Grand Prize winner.

Grand Prize: One (1) winner and three (3) guests will receive: 

Grand Prize Part 1: VIP tickets to ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ opening night plus afterparty (no guarantee of cast meet and greet), San Francisco, California on December 1, 2019; VIP Experience guided tour  at Universal Studios Hollywood; 1-Day Universal Express tickets; plus meet-and-greet with actress Bonnie Wright on December 8, 2019;

Grand Prize Part 2: VIP tour of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal Studios, Orlando; and VIP tour of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, plus meet-and-greet with Warwick Davis. Winner only will receive a personalized Hogwarts trunk. Dates are TBD and dependent on talent and winner availability.

Round trip flights and hotel for all 4 locations are included.

Up to 25% of ARV of grand prize will be paid by Sponsor to the Grand Prize Winner to put towards any required income taxes.

Prize Terms and Restrictions:

All Prizes may be subject to delays, diversions, substitutions, failures, damage, destruction, discontinuations, cancellations, and/or availability issues, licensing, import, distribution, eligibility (jurisdictional or otherwise) or other restrictions, acts or omissions of third parties, or other force majeure events or circumstances beyond Sponsor’s or Prize Provider’s control as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

Sponsor is responsible for any and all applicable fees, taxes and service charges for the American Airlines flights. Winner is responsible for any and all applicable surcharges or passenger facility charges and all insurance costs, gratuities, meals, incidentals and any other unspecified expenses associated with acceptance or use of the Prize.  American Airlines AAdvantage® miles awarded in this Sweepstakes will not count toward elite status qualification, AAdvantage Million Miler status or any other promotional benefit that American Airlines may offer in the AAdvantage® program.  American Airlines may, among other things add travel embargo dates, limit the number of seats available for award travel (including, but not limited to, allocating no seats on certain flights) or otherwise restrict the continued availability of travel awards or special offers. Eligibility (applicable for all prizing):

Sweepstakes entrants must be at least 18 years old to win. Winners must be residents of the United States or the United Kingdom. In certain other countries, local rules and laws may restrict or prohibit the award of certain prizes or impose additional restrictions on participation. Entry is subject to all local laws. See Sponsor’s Sweepstakes Official Rules for more details. Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor, Charity, or Prize Provider, and members of their immediate families and households, are not eligible to win.

Guests must be of legal age of majority in his/ her jurisdiction of residence (and at least 18), unless Winner is the legal guardian of Guest and Guest is at least 5 years of age or older at the time of travel. Hotel accommodations require that at least one of the hotel guest(s) is at least 21 years of age. If Winner and/ or Guest reside outside the country where experience will take place, Winner and/ or Guest must have current, valid passports, and be able to travel to the experience location(s)

Individuals may not receive more than one major/grand prize within the same 18 month period.

Selection Process:

Conditional Winners will be chosen through a random selection process by Sponsor or its representative. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries held. A verification process will take place during which conditional Winners will be required to sign paperwork re-confirming their eligibility and, if applicable, their ability to participate on given dates. Sponsor may also perform background checks, at its discretion, before an official Winner is announced.

Additional Sweepstakes Terms:

By entering this Sweepstakes, all entrants agree to: (a) be bound by these Rules (including Sponsor’s Sweepstakes Official Rules) and by all applicable laws and decisions of Sponsor, which shall be binding and final; (b) waive any rights to claim ambiguity with respect to these Rules (including Sponsor’s Sweepstakes Official Rules); (c) waive all of your rights to bring any claim, action, or proceeding against Sponsor, Prize Providers, Charities and Sponsor’s promotional partners (collectively, the “Released Parties”) in connection with this Sweepstakes; and (d) to forever and irrevocably agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless each of the Released Parties from any and all claims, lawsuits, judgments, causes of action, proceedings, demands, fines, penalties, liability costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable outside attorneys’ fees) that may arise in connection with his or her entrance and participation in this Sweepstakes (including any Prize).

Winners and Guests (if applicable for a Prize) (or, if under the age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence, his or her respective parent or legal guardian) must complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release (and any other documents or verification forms required by Sponsor or Prize Provider as further described in Sponsor’s Sweepstakes Official Rules) prior to receiving any Prize. If Winner is the parent or legal guardian of a Guest, Winner must execute and return all required documents on behalf of such Guest.

Transparency:

At Omaze, we believe fundraising should be about impact, not percentages. Our model allows us, in partnership with CAFA, to really make a difference and disrupt the way society traditionally thinks about charitable giving.

Here’s how it works: Omaze and CAFA work together to offer incredible prizes and experiences that anyone can potentially win. You don’t have to donate to enter, but if you do, your donation to CAFA is then used to make a charitable grant to a great cause, which we love. Omaze pays for everything that’s needed to run the sweepstakes, which means the only ones taking a chance are the entrants (you!)—not the charity. The nonprofit can spend less time worrying about raising funds, and instead focus their energy on doing awesome work.

*This means that for the typical campaign, from every dollar you donate, 60 cents is passed directly through to CAFA, all of which is then used by CAFA to make a grant to the associated charity. If there are multiple charities, then grants of equal share are made to each charity. Of the remaining 40 cents, 25 cents is typically used to pay for things like advertising, payment processing and the costs of making the campaign a success—including providing the prize. Then the last 15 cents goes to Omaze and is used to cover the cost of providing and maintaining the technology and team that makes this all happen.

The result? Causes get a guaranteed grant with no risk and no overhead or investment, our lucky winners get awesome prizes, and everyone else gets to help a great cause and spread joy!
