Safe Place for Youth
About the cause
Safe Place for Youth (SPY) was founded in 2011 by a group of dedicated volunteers and Executive Director, Alison Hurst. Today, it’s the leading service provider for youth experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness on the westside of Los Angeles, and offers 10 core program components aimed at meeting the unique needs of young people between the ages of 12-25. This year, over 1,500 individuals have received life-saving support across SPY's continuum of care. Their mission is to inspire, nurture and empower the resilient human spirit of homeless youth by providing immediate and lasting solutions one young person at a time.
