About the cause
Shopping for a Change (SFAC) is an incredible organization that empowers people around the world to raise themselves from poverty through fair trade. SFAC is an extended global marketplace for fair trade products by artisans, artisan co-ops and companies that employ these artisans—predominantly women—from economically disadvantaged areas throughout the world. SFAC, in conjunction with its partnering artisan organizations, helps create a sustainable income for the artisans employed in over 30 countries around the world. Half of SFAC’s net proceeds fund a community improvement project in one or more of its artisan communities, with the other half sent to U.S.-based nonprofit organizations selected by its customers.
