The Samburu Project
About the cause
The Samburu Project’s (TSP) mission is to provide access to clean water and continue to support well communities with initiatives that promote health, education, women’s empowerment and general well-being. Samburu women and girls walk up to 12 miles every day looking for water. Since TSP’s founding in 2005, they’ve drilled over 109 wells in Samburu, Kenya, providing drinking water for 100,000 people. Having a local source has led waterborne diseases to greatly decline, education for girls to double and allowed women to start micro-businesses and gardening projects.
