The Trevor Project and Foundation for The AIDS Monument
About the cause
The Trevor Project aims to end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people. This incredible organization provides crisis counseling, educational resources and a sense of community to LGBTQ youth in order to reduce their risk of becoming suicidal. It also educates those who interact with young people on LGBTQ-competent suicide prevention, risk detection and response, and advocates for policies that reduce suicidal risk factors and improve access to mental health services.
Foundation for The AIDS Monument is a capital campaign to raise $4.5 million to fabricate and install The AIDS Monument, a permanent art project that will memorialize the devastation of AIDS on our nation, and will honor the courage of activists, caregivers and community leaders. The lasting physical and interactive Monument will be located in a public space in the heart of West Hollywood, CA and will serve as a symbol of the AIDS epidemic, while raising awareness about the history and current state of the disease.
